Burn · A Campflame app
Press
Burn is a calorie tracker for iPhone. Snap your plate or type what you ate, and Burn shows you each food and portion before anything is logged.
Burn went live on the App Store on 12 October 2026. It is free to use, with an optional Burn Pro subscription.
You check the meal before it counts
Take a photo of your plate or type a few words. Burn splits the meal into foods, portions and calories and lists each one. Foods that need a portion are marked, and you pick it in one tap. Change a portion, swap a food or add one it missed. Nothing is logged until you confirm. Photo and text logging are part of Burn Pro.
Your real daily burn, from your own numbers
Calorie formulas are a starting point. After at least two weeks of logging, with a few weigh-ins, Burn’s weekly check-in estimates how many calories you actually burn a day. It shows how sure it is and explains how it worked it out. Your target changes only when you choose to change it. The check-in is free.
A diary that is free to use
Food search, barcode scanning, nutrition label scanning, quick add, recipes, saved foods, macros, weight trend, streaks and workouts are free. Today shows the calories you have left in one ring, with protein, carbs and fat below. Workouts come in from Apple Health, or you type them, such as “30 min walk”.
Burn Pro adds photo and text meal logging, Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, and a personal maintenance range. Ending Pro keeps every record you saved.
Where your data goes
There is no Burn account and no sign-up. Your diary is kept on your iPhone and in your iPhone’s own backups. Burn keeps no copy of it on a server.
When you ask Burn to analyze a meal, the photo or description you chose goes through Burn’s service to the AI provider, Z.ai, which the app names before your first scan. Burn resizes the photo and removes its metadata first, and Burn’s AI service does not save meal photos or descriptions. Your diary, weight and Health records are not sent. Food and barcode searches use Burn’s own lookup service.
Burn reads from Apple Health only when you allow it, and writes nothing to it. Anonymous usage statistics and crash reports are on by default and can be turned off in You › Your data & privacy › Privacy and sharing. The full policy: burn.campflame.dev/privacy.
What it does not do
AI results are estimates and can be wrong; you check them before they count. Burn gives estimates, not medical advice. There is no sync between devices, no Apple Watch app, no meal plans and no voice logging. It runs on iPhone and is in English.
